May 17,2013: The Young Men’s Business League of Austin (YMBL) is celebrating its centennial in 2013. NEMSB’s Associate Attorney Sam Colletti and other YMBL members recently met with Representative Donna Howard on the floor of the Texas House of Representatives. Rep. Howard presented a resolution recognizing YMBL’s centennial and highlighting the impactful work of YMBL%20(640x427).jpg) members through the Austin Sunshine Camps (ASC). Through ASC, the YMBL members mentor and support local underprivileged children with free summer camps and free year-round tutoring. Hillery provided outstanding work as a contract attorney for our firm beginning last year and she has agreed to join our team. Hillery has extensive experience in family law focused on divorce and custody cases. She has also practiced employment law, trademark law, and commercial litigation throughout her career. December 17, 2012: Partner Keith Maples has been working extensively with the Imagine A Way Foundation, including serving as a board member. The foundation sponsors therapy for families of autistic children. Keith's personal experience with his own autistic son lead to his realization of the importance of early therapy interventions to help autistic children reach their full potential. These therapies can cost $35,000 or more each year and frequently are not covered by health insurance. Imagine a Way sponsors families and works in partnership with therapy providers to reduce the cost of these expensive but critical services. Their annual gala was held on October 4, 2012 and raised $97,000.

September 30, 2012: Partner Keith Maples nominated as 'Prom King'. As part of their fundraising for Texas RioGrande Legal Aid, the Austin Bar/Austin Young Lawyers Association Leadership Academy nominated a number of male and female attorneys, respectively, for 'Prom King' and 'Prom Queen'. The winning King and Queen were named based on fundraising results for each nominee at their fall gala on September 22, 2012 at City Hall. Our own Partner, Keith Maples was one of the nominees, raising $2,250 toward the cause, and the firm also contributed $1,000. More information is available here.

 March 5, 2012 - Andrea (Andi) St. Leger, Partner, has been elected President of the Travis County Family Law Advocates, an association made up of the Board Certified Family Law Practitioners in private practice in Travis County.
The organization is intended to improve the practice of family law by working with the bench, educating members and other family law practitioners, and working with other professionals providing services to persons involved in family law disputes in the community. Andi joins Partner Keith Maples, who serves as Treasurer.
