Staff Bios

Christine Giles is our office administrator.  Christine has spent over 15 years in the accounting and bookkeeping industry, including working extensively with CPAs, student lenders and physicians. In her position at NOELKE ENGLISH MAPLES ST. LEGER BLAIR, LLP she is responsible for the day-to-day accounting and administrative work, including preparing billing statements for our clients. Although she has lived in many parts of the U.S., she has happily settled in Austin with her husband, young son and a house full of four-legged friends.
Spring Liberty started her paralegal career in 1980 and was a practicing paralegal for fourteen years in the family law arena. Spring then practiced for ten years in forensic accounting, specializing in family law complex property cases including tracing and characterization of separate and community property. In 2004, Spring became a Trust Officer and worked in the trust, estate and probate areas of law. Spring resumed her paralegal career in 2009, bringing her 31 years of varied experience to NOELKE ENGLISH MAPLES ST. LEGER BLAIR, LLP in 2010. Spring is a certified paralegal through the National Association of Legal Assistants and is a member of the Paralegal Division of the State Bar of Texas. She earned her Board Certification in Family Law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 2013. Spring earned her bachelor's degree in business administration from St. Edward's University.
Julie Whitson Julie Whitson fell in love with the law in her undergraduate studies and went on to receive a Master’s Degree in Legal Studies from Texas State University at San Marcos. She has worked in the field of Family Law since 2006 and is a member of the Paralegal Division of the State Bar of Texas. Julie earned her Board Certification in Family Law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 2013.  She enjoys spending downtime with her close network of family and friends. She is a fan of true-crime stories, Dallas Cowboys football, and Texas country music.
Carson Arkinson grew up in downtown Dallas and is a graduate of The Greenhill School and the University of Colorado in Boulder, where she majored in English Literature and Film. Her history includes work as diverse as dog training, web development, copy writing, and political and non-profit fundraising, as well as a one-year term as an AmeriCorps volunteer for College Forward in Austin. She has worked as a family law paralegal for five years, and is fulfilled by helping clients navigate through a tough time making smart decisions and staying optimistic. Her husband and two elementary school-age boys keep her busy at home, where she enjoys downtime reading and record collecting.
Ruth Overton brings over 25 years of legal experience to NEMSB. She began her legal career with various positions in the Fort Bend County District Attorney’s Office, including serving as a victim witness coordinator and intake division coordinator. Ruth’s passion for acting as an advocate and helping people navigate court proceedings helped many victims of violent crimes. The past 17 years in family law have given Ruth the chance put those same instincts to use, as well as giving her vast experience in preparing for and attending trials. Ruth is a member of the Paralegal Division of the State Bar of Texas. She and her husband Jeff have two sons who keep Ruth busy with football, lacrosse and basketball. Ruth spends her free time with family and friends and she always has a camera in hand.

Kimberly A. McDonald was born in Fort Worth, Texas and has lived in the Austin area since 1992. Kimberly was divorced in 2002, so she truly understands the divorce process inside and out. She has been busy the last 11 years as a full-time working single mother to her three beautiful and “perfect” children - Meagan, Shane and John.
     Kimberly began her legal career in 1994, working at the State Bar of Texas, and has been in family law since 1998. She has filled every position possible, from receptionist to office manager, assistant and finally to paralegal in the early 2000’s. Kimberly has earned her Board Certification in Family Law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization (TBLS) and is an active member of the Paralegal Division of the State Bar of Texas and the Capital Area Paralegal Association (CAPA).
 
  Misti Janes has been a family law paralegal since 2001 and is board certified in family law by theTexas Board of Legal Specialization. She previously worked for a firm in Amarillo, Texas before relocating to the Austin area. Misti is a graduate from the paralegal studies program at Amarillo College. She also taught the family law class for the Paralegal Studies program at Amarillo College. Misti has been an active member of the Paralegal Division of the State Bar of Texas since 2006. She was a District Director for District 7 (Amarillo and Texas Panhandle area) for 4 years before being elected as President of the Paralegal Division for 2013-2014. She is the current President of the Paralegal Division and has enjoyed serving the paralegal community in Texas. Misti enjoys spending her free time with her husband and their three children.
